Beacon Hill museum at the African Meeting House

Description

The Museum of African American History was founded in 1963 and preserves the African Meeting House, a National Historic Landmark, and the Abiel Smith School, both built in the early 1800s on Beacon Hill. Exhibits and tours cover Black history in Boston and New England, abolition and the ongoing story of race and human rights. It also runs the annual Stone Book Award for books on African American history.
