The Museum of African American Art sits on the second level of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and shows work from its permanent collection of African American and African diaspora art. It was founded in 1976 by artist and scholar Dr. Samella Lewis and is marking its 50th anniversary with collection exhibitions through 2026.
