Gullah Sweetgrass Baskets is the studio of Andrea Cayetano-Jefferson, a sixth-generation Gullah weaver who began selling family baskets at the Charleston City Market as a child, working with her daughter Chelsea. They coil sweetgrass, bulrush and palmetto into baskets, wreaths and palmetto roses, and offer cultural talks and basket-making instruction on request. Work is sold at the City Market and through their online shop.
