Description

Sister's Uptown Bookstore & Cultural Center on Amsterdam Avenue at the Harlem and Washington Heights line has sold books by and about people of African descent since Janifer P. Wilson opened it in 2000. Beyond books, it runs author talks, readings and community programs, and it is hosting its first gala, Voices of Harlem, in October 2026.
