Equal Justice Initiative museum on slavery to mass incarceration in downtown Montgomery
Description
The Legacy Museum, created by the Equal Justice Initiative founded by attorney Bryan Stevenson, sits on the site of a former cotton warehouse on North Court Street in downtown Montgomery. Exhibits use first-person accounts, artwork, interactive media and data to trace racial injustice from the slave trade through Jim Crow to mass incarceration. Tickets also cover EJI's National Memorial for Peace and Justice and Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, and Pannie-George's Kitchen serves soul food on site.
