The Harbor Bank of Maryland opened in 1982 to serve Baltimore neighborhoods where Black residents had been overlooked by mainstream lenders, and co-founder Joseph Haskins Jr. still chairs the board and serves as CEO. The main office sits at 25 West Fayette Street downtown, with branches in Harbor East, the Science and Technology Park, Pimlico, Northwood, Randallstown and Silver Spring. It offers personal and business checking, savings, CDs and commercial lending, and holds FDIC Minority Depository Institution and certified CDFI status.
