Industrial Bank was founded by Jesse Mitchell during the Great Depression and opened in August 1934 with six employees, and three generations of the Mitchell family have led it since, including current CEO B. Doyle Mitchell Jr. Its main office is on Georgia Avenue NW in Petworth, with banking centers on U Street, in Northeast and Anacostia, in Prince George's County, in Newark and in Harlem. It provides personal and business accounts, mortgages and commercial loans as a CDFI.
